The core idea of the documentary is the tension between the human need to be remembered and the ways this need manifests itself. Coins, while not the most glorious of human inventions, can say so much about humanity, not only because of their implication of an economic and political structure, but also because of their everyday use. I am drawn by the idea of a mundane object constantly remade and used throughout the centuries.
